Where EDS is ideally suited and where alternatives may be necessary


Rising ground water from the water table can also cause humidity; the proper solution in this situation must involve drainage work. An on-site inspection will determine the necessary measures. Mineral salts carried by the capillaries, collect in deposits and absorb ambient humidity by hygroscopic attraction. In this case the wall finish will need to be renewed.


Construction faults and defects require professional remedial work.

Splash water and driving rain can cause localized dampness and mould growth. Appropriate repair work is required.


EDS can be used to reduce humidity caused by condensation when warm air comes into contact with a cold surface. But the root causes of humidity build up will have to be addressed by the appropriate means such as fitting insulation, proper ventilation and the use of appropriate cladding and paints.


Wall humidity is due to various factors.

Wall humidity caused by capillary draw is the ideal field of application for EDS. Water molecules are repelled and forced back into the ground by the protective EDS field surrounding the walls.


EDS also inhibits lateral capillary draw and protects walls that are below the ground level.

Lateral groundwater infiltration, due to its greater pressure, is often stronger than the EDS protective field and requires additional structural and drainage work. We will gladly advise on the necessary measures.
